Father’s Day

by Carrinicole

You are the best father you can be to me. Just like your cancer stays within you, it stays within me too, never allowing healing within either of us. You said that brain cancer makes you question who you are, and I’m okay with never meeting who you were before. You passed down your genes, intellect, curiosity, and that smirk to me, and that’s all I need to know. Nothing about your life or my life is normal, and I think we can agree that fact suits us just fine. Every Father’s Day together is a gift.
